Each year Little Athletics runs a Championship series which includes Zone, Region and State Championships. All registered athletes are eligible to enter their respective Zone Championships with progression rules in place for athletes who qualify for their Region and eventually State Championships.

Details for the 2023 Zone Championships for Western Ranges Zone are:
When: Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd December 2023.
Where: Kurrajong Bilpin Little Athletics Centre. McMahons Park, Kurrajong.
Registration: Athletes must register to participate in the Zone Championships.
Registration is via individual Centres. Note your Centre’s process and deadlines.
Registrations close strictly midnight 4th November 2023 with no exceptions.
Exemptions: Athletes seeking an exemption from the Zone Championships must read the Little Athletics Rules of Competition before applying.

Athletes must compete at their relevant Zone Championships or have an exemption provided by Little Athletics NSW to qualify for the Region Championships.
Events: Athletes will need to register to have the opportunity to complete a range of events shown below but are restricted to the number of events they can participate in as follows:

U10: 70m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 60m Hurdles. 1100m Walk, Long Jump, High Jump, Discus, Shot Put
U11: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 80m Hurdles. 1100m Walk, Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Discus, Shot Put, Javelin
U12: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 80m Hurdles. 1500m Walk, Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Discus, Shot Put, Javelin

U15: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 90m Hurdles (Girls). 100m Hurdles (Boys), 300m Hurdles, 1500m Walk, Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Discus, Shot Put, Javelin
U17: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 100m Hurdles (Girls). 110m Hurdles (Boys), 300m Hurdles, 1500m Walk, Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Discus, Shot Put, Javelin
Javelin: Always aware of safety for all athletes and officials, Javelin events will be held in the latter half of Saturday and Sunday allowing for Track events. This will mean some Javelin events may be held following completion of Track competition.
Please consider this when nominating for Javelin competition (U11 – U17)
Program of Events: Once the entries have been checked and finalised, the Program of Events will then be completed. This will then be posted on Western Ranges Zone Facebook and Website. The events offered on each day will be similar to the program used in 2022 with the exception of Javein per the above.
Entry Fee: $10 per athlete to be collected by Centres
Please Note:
– Competition will be conducted the Little Athletics NSW Rules of Competition.
– Competitors must compete in their own age group.
– Approved Centre uniform must be worn with Registration Number and Age Patch
– Footwear is compulsory for ALL competitors in ALL events
– Spikes may be worn as per LANSW Rules of Competition.
If the event is postponed, we will advise an alternate date.
