Zone Championships

Each year Little Athletics runs a Championship series which includes Zone, Region and State Championships.  All registered athletes are eligible to enter their respective Zone Championships with progression rules in place for athletes who qualify for their Region and eventually State Championships.

Details for the 2022 Zone Championships for Western Ranges Zone are:

 

When:                   Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th December 2022.

Where:                 Bathurst Little Athletics Centre. Morse Park, Durham St., Bathurst.

Registration:     Athletes must register to participate in the Zone Championships.

                     Registration is via individual Centres. Note your Centre’s process and deadlines.

                               Registrations close strictly midnight 12th November 2022 with no exceptions.

Exemptions:      Athletes seeking an exemption from the Zone Championships must read the Little Athletics Rules of Competition before applying.

A strict timeline for exemption applications, process and criteria apply.

Athletes must compete at their relevant Zone Championships or have an exemption provided by Little Athletics NSW to qualify for the Region Championships.

 

Events:              Athletes will need to register to have the opportunity to complete a range of events shown below but are restricted to the number of events they can participate in as follows:

U7 – U11      Maximum of 4 events excluding relays

U12 – U17      Maximum of 6 events excluding relays

 

Events Offered:

U7:         50m, 70m, 100m, 200m, 500m Pack Start, Long Jump, Discus, Shot Put

U8:         70m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 700m Pack Start, 60m Hurdles, Long Jump, Discus, Shot Put

U9:         70m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 60m Hurdles. 700m Walk, Long Jump, High Jump, Discus, Shot Put

U10:       70m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 60m Hurdles. 1100m Walk, Long Jump, High Jump, Discus, Shot Put

U11:       100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 80m Hurdles. 1100m Walk, Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Discus, Shot Put, Javelin

U12:       100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 80m Hurdles. 1500m Walk, Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Discus, Shot Put, Javelin

U13:       100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 80m Hurdles. 200m Hurdles, 1500m Walk, Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Discus, Shot Put, Javelin

U14:       100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 80m Hurdles (Girls). 90m Hurdles (Boys), 200m Hurdles, 1500m Walk, Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Discus, Shot Put, Javelin

U15:       100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 90m Hurdles (Girls). 100m Hurdles (Boys), 300m Hurdles, 1500m Walk, Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Discus, Shot Put, Javelin

U17:       100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 100m Hurdles (Girls). 110m Hurdles (Boys), 300m Hurdles, 1500m Walk, Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Discus, Shot Put, Javelin

 

Program of Events: Once the entries have been checked and finalised, the Program of Events will then be completed. This will then be posted on Western Ranges Zone Facebook and Website around 30 Nov 2022

 

Entry Fee:             $10 per athlete to be collected by Centres

 

Please Note:   

– Competition will be conducted the Little Athletics NSW Rules of Competition.

– Competitors must compete in their own age group.

– Approved Centre uniform must be worn with Registration Number and Age Patch

– Footwear is compulsory for ALL competitors in ALL events

– Spikes may be worn as per LANSW Rules of Competition.

 

If the event is postponed, we will advise an alternate date.
